Nurturing Bright Futures, Together.
Sahtú Dene Council
We are grateful for the support of the Sahtú Dene Council (SDC). ŁELS and SDC have an MOU in place to lease a parcel of SDC land in Norman Wells as the future site of our daycare. SDC has been a key partner in working towards an Early Childhood Education Facility in Norman Wells.
Government of Northwest Territories
Our pre-development planning progress is thanks to the ongoing support of the GNWT through their Early Childhood Infrastructure Fund. With this support, ŁELS has been able to complete a geotechnical study, site survey and class A building designs. We are now a shovel ready project! We have also relied on additional GNWT support through MACA’s Youth Corps, and the NGO Stabilization Fund to help us with our early establishment and planning.
Jordan’s Principle
provides critical funding to help close the gap that Indigenous families experience in Norman Wells without early childhood education. Jordan’s Principle supports the Sahtú Sprouts Program.
Indigenous Services Canada
is another key partner supporting our operations. Thanks to their support, the Sahtú Sprouts program is growing and we have completed our pre-development planning towards an early childhood education facility.
